A Way

Away we go in this ever-changing and challenging time on planet earth. We may awaken to a beautiful morning of fresh snow and feel the excitement to attach our skies to the car rack and head to the slopes for another exuberant day before spring comes too early in this time of rising temperatures. We may be happy to awaken in the warmth of the tropical sun, smelling the flowers, donning a hat to shade our face while walking the beach at the ocean’s edge.

Yet, in many places, there are families frightened to sleep as they struggle to find safety in bombed-out communities with gutted homes, broken bridges, and bombs and missiles blare through the night. These families are aware they may be facing the last moment to have a child, a brother, sister, mother, father, or entire family alive upon this planet. Others may be climbing into unsafe, overcrowded boats to face the sea’s wrath while searching safety in a foreign land rather than stay in their homeland to be raped, shot, or tortured.

Now, the world is frightened by the coronavirus. In the USA, elections, hopes, lies, lies, and more lies compound the ability to trust Mr. Trump. His trust was lost long before he became president. Yet, he and his cronies appear to be mesmerized and or frightened to admit that he lies continually, apparently seldom picks up a book or map to have any idea of geography, ethnicities, medical threats, or scientific facts. His psyche seems unable to focus on anything further than himself, and he calls everything contrary to his thoughtforms, ‘a hoax.’

Where do we seek and find the circles of community ready to face the dark side of political chaos and become ever more compassionate, ready to help the many who have run out of avenues toward safety, only to crash into compassionless governments? We cannot run away from the reality of forces, primarily governmental, exaggerated by the internet, social media, and advertising, that in many, many cases are shams and lies designed for personal power, dollars, or shameful narcissism.

Dollars, fame, and power have for many, become more treasured than compassion, human life, or even the welfare and health of the planet. The selfishness of leaders claiming their rights and powers to have more than the masses, regardless of the harm it brings to the environment, people, and the future, may negate a future upon this planet.

There is abundance upon the earth. There is more than enough for all life. Yet, hoarders are criminal when they claim ownership of the cornucopia Mother Earth brings to the table each day. We, the people, shall continue to suffer along with the planet unless we change the balance of justice, free the innocent from prison, and consider putting the thieves and anarchists on an island surrounded by sharks and impenetrable walls. There, they can eat each other up until they die or wake-up to their rapes and robberies.

How? When? …will we stop looking away from the dark side and help with ideas, plans, protests, and positive actions that include the simple Golden Rule: “Do unto others….”

Any straight line eventually becomes a circle back upon itself. We cannot get away from anything unless we work to find a new pathway from our own straight-lines.
